We are home! **I have been trying to post for about 4 hours..Thanks Bob for
getting the first data out there...I am so glad you were with us and it was
wonderful to see you again.. Gladys was missed..many hugs to her.***
We had no cell or internet service at UCHEE Creek..Cell service ONLY IF ON
VERIZON...
So here is a quick breakdown of THE happenings..
Thursday..James got on site first..Richard and I followed Thursday evening
around 7PM...Russ and Gloria and Mark and Angie came in around 830 and had
not yet had dinner so..While they got settled..Richard and I ran in the car
to the NOT so close open Piggly Wiggly and got stuff to do dinner..closest
anything INRE to food or shopping was 20+miles...I cooked ALL weekend and
LOVED IT!!..okay..RICHARD did the Grill work..But I handled the rest..Gloria,
Angie, and Jeannie(Jame's friend girl ),Nancy and Ruth all pitched in to
make the task of prep and cleanup so much more enjoyable.
Friday morning Richard and I left for work and James lead the Friday daytime
activities...HE will report when he gets home and back on the computor..
Friday evening we had Bill and Ruth arrive as well as Mike Goodwin and Leon
and Nancy Stearns and Bob Wright. James got them settled and by the time
Richard and I made it back to the Chalet after work..we got the grill
started and the Burgers and Brats ready to flame...we had fruit salad and
Watermelon too!!!!..
Saturday morning I had Breakfast already prepped and we did OMELETS in a bag
and then took off for Roosevelt State Park/Pine Mountain/Warm Springs..We
shopped..SOME ATE ICE CREAM BEFORE LUNCH..and then we walked over to Bullock
House for a great lunch..(I have to say Mike brought up the rear of our
riding activities in his Smart Car..and the bikes were bigger than that
car!!
Bill and Ruth took a ride break and geocached in Uchee Creek and took
advantage of the pool.
Now for the PIFFEE..
We arrived back and had a car waiting that had our PIFFEE..
The PVT was clueless and we kept him that way until everyone else arrived at
the Chalet...
This young private is getting ready to deploy..He joined the ARMY in OHIO
..came from a bad neighborhood..Married a young lady from ATLANTA..and found
out in January that in April they would be having twins...boys..
They have struggled since the twins birth and this young soldier has made
many positive things happen in his life. I found him with the assistance of
3rd ID, 3rd Brigade FRG..Family Readiness Group..THANK YOU Kandis,Andrea and
Djuana!!
We were able to present him with $1400.00. He was most touched and will keep
us posted as to how they are doing..the TWINS were sick with an ear
infection for one and croup for the other..his wife and the babies could not
be with us...
He and his friend and their SGT stayed and ate with us..and fellowshipped
for a considerable good time..
OH...
You want to know who won the laptop...
I'll get to that..

Joe Austin..you have 100% cotton washcloths made by my MOMMA..along with 3
other folks that bought tickets from James..
Someone who bought a ticket from Bill won the Blanket I made with the ARMY
logo on it..
Richard and I won a set of Chrome brake handles for a 1500 we do not own
......YET!!
A friend of James won the FROG TOGGS that TOM BATT donated last year and
Nancy and Leon picked up on their way back from last year's PIF...
Mike and Lois Robinson were unable to make it at the last minute and had to
cancel..Unless something changes..THEY will be hosting next years PIF in
INDIANA. Russ and Mark are in HOT standby..
.....or DID Mark volunteer for something???
AND FINALLY LAST..
but certainly not least
BOB WRIGHT won the WII SPORT Game...
Am I forgetting something???
