Please excuse my lack of knowledge of proper computer terminology, but, regretfully, we have had to remove the above titled postings because of all the "space" it was taking up. It was our hope to leave it up until the big event next weekend, but it is "hanging up" our system. I hope you understand the problem (better than I do, I'll bet!).

Have a great time at the presentation...wish Benny and I could be there. Please give Bill and Linda hugs from Arizona!

Thanks Shirley,

I think you kept the thread up longer than any of us expected you to.

Now we will just have to start over!

Linda are you out there? Greg? Joe? Anyone?

Shirley, as stated above, we appreciate how long it was there, and have it archived. I'll post it as a pdf or word doc on my web site if anyone wants it. It was getting big, and we don't want to slow the whole board down because of it.
Thanks.

I agree, thanks for letting it live long enough to make the dream a reality. I suppose that I can understand, especially since the last couple of days were slowing down some. But just because the thread is gone, I'm sure that we'll still be talking about it some.

Ok, I remember what I posted last that might not have been read...

Linda, You mentioned sneaking out Bill's riding gear and helmet. Don't forget your own. We won't be able to be there, but I'll bet those who are would not want to see you work, work, work, and miss out on any of the fun, just to take care of them. I'll just bet they would like to see Big Red 2's co-rider seat occupied too.

MY DEAREST FAMILY OF FRIENDS:

Opened the general board and head south to the bottom, broke into tears when I saw our thread gone. Kleenex time!!! Honk!!Sniff!!! Then I started on my hunting trip as I know my friends would not leave me now. I found ya' though!!

Thanks Shirley for letting the thread and dream stay alive for so long. Also, a big Thank You for giving someone the entire thread as I know I missed a few today. You must have been dumping us as I was trying to post because I couldn't get my Good Morning post applied. I know it took a long time for that thread to load, which I feel bad that it did take so long, but I would like to know the final count of that particular thread. Does anyone have it?

The friends I have made on this message board me more to me than anyone could possibly know. I feel as if I know each and everyone of them all my life as I feel so comfortable reading and writing at LEAST twice a day.

YOU ALL CAN'T GET RID OF ME THAT EASY!!! LOVE YOU TOO MUCH, THERE'S NO PLACE YOU CAN HIDE NOW!!!!

I've been thinking all day about a location that would be centralized for everyone to meet for a reunion. I've kept in mind of our friends in Canada when I say centralized. Anyone have any ideas let me know. I've set up a file to place locations that is suggested, but I'll also need to know when everyone would thinks they might make it. So email me your suggestions and probable dates and I'll keep track of them and let you know what I come up with. I've been doing some designs for a few goodies for a reunion.

It's later than I thought, no wonder I'm so tired. I'll close for tonight and HOPE you all will be here in the morning.

God Bless!
Love and Prayers,
Linda

Hi Linda, I was worried when we couldn't post for a while, so glad you found us!

It just so happens that I was pouring through my mapping program last night and I found out that the best place for the 2003 get together seems to be near an old missile silo near Mt. Rushmore.

Hmm! As much as I am a fan of NATO, maybe we can come up with a better (site). I almost called it a re-union site but then I realized that it is actually a union site. Next years get together will actually be the "Hines Wing Group Union!" The following year will be the re-union!

We are open at this point but the best time for us is in the fall! This started in the fall and fall seems like a great time to meet.

O.K. -- I'll try to stop posting again - this is so hard!

Well, this may not be central for everyone, especially our southern friends, but how about Wing Ding? We could organize a time and place like the cyber wings and other groups do.
If that's no good, we'll pick something a little more south. I'm always looking for an excuse to hop on the Wing and go.

I had wondered about that, too, Greg. And then I wondered if we would be able to do it justice, with all the other events, etc. going on at Wing Ding. Linda said something about preferring a state park. There are several really good state parks here in Iowa, but none of them allow reservations. The Corp of Engineer parks take reservations through Reserve America (kind of a hassle, though). There is a really nice private campground (Rustic Barn RV park) in Wisconsin just across the river from Dubuque. There are some great roads to ride in the area, also. The former owners were very motorcycle (Goldwing) friendly, but it just went under new management a couple of weeks ago and I don't know them at all. Perhaps southern Missouri or northern Arkansas where there are also some good riding roads. Don't know about state parks or campgrounds in that area, though. Since we're unable to attend the BR2 presentation a reunion is an attractive alternative. Any other suggestions out there?

GOOD MORNING MY DEAREST FAMILY OF FRIENDS:

It's sooooooooo good to be able to say that still.

Tim: What time would your flight be arriving in Dayton? My Baby sister, Marcia and her husband have to drive right past the airport to get here. She's just as sweet as my other sister Judi, and I'm sure she'd be happy to do it. If possible, why don't you fly in Friday night? One of us could pick you up without worrying about missing anything. My family can pass you off as another crazy family member and Bill wouldn't suspect a thing. He hasn't met all my family (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.) Let me know, okay? Would love to have someone from Washington State here.

Tim has me wondering now, I heard from a fellow in Australia at the beginning of this thing. Who are you and where did you go?

The weather is sunny and cold today. Last night Channel 7 was predicting about 48 on Wednesday or Thursday, but maybe some rain. Anyway the two days before that, it's suppose to be in the 50's. Still praying hard for good weather, doing my good weather dance at least twice a day, voo doo lady still standing by! Maybe I'll throw some of this black powder I have in the air of Friday morning. It helps tomatoes grow, maybe it will help the weather.

For those who read my posting about that place in Nevada, that was true and not just a Halloween story. Costs us each a coke and a roll of quarters for the slots! Was afraid to just use the bathroom without ordering a pop and playing the slots. The whole time they just stared at us. Real creepy!!!!!Never drank a pop so fast or gone through a roll of quarters so fast in my life. Still don't remember exactly where the place was but did pass a bunch of military bunkers in the desert to the left of us as we headed south from Reno to Vegas. Will have to look it up on the map.

Ron: You are just too much. What did you type in on your search to find those places starting with Hines?

Bob: I had looked at campgrounds around Mount Rushmore and saw it was near Sturgis. We'll keep looking.

Greg: Wing Ding is another possibility but I'm afraid we wouldn't be able to gather everyone up at the same time with all that goes on, ya' know what I mean?

I'm sure we will find a place so keep those suggestions and a time frame in mind my dear friends.

I'll close for now and get back with you later. Have a wonderful and safe day!

God Bless!
Love and Prayers,
Linda

P.S. Do you think we could make Judi and Dave honorary "GW Family of Friends"? They don't two wheel it but they sure have been working overtime making the 9th possible.

Thank you Linda for keeping your Canadian friends in mind for this re-union. However in the fall for us may not be an option. You see sometimes we cannot ride past Oct 15th. Today for example it is only +10F or -6 C. We also have 3 inches of snow. Therefore a summer event would be preferred.

Hello Cyber Chapter H (CCH)
Tim, & Jeff.......come on down
Festivities start at 10AM on the 9th, so get here early if your flying in Saturday. Sounds like Linda's sister is coming by the airport on the way, so that could work out good. Or, fly in Friday night. I know CCH'ers will be invading Econolodge in Eaton, and Red Roof Inn in Miamisburg. Anyone in town Friday night, and want to hang out in the 'burg (Miamisburg), I'm looking to have dinner with Joe & his gang % Gary & Shirley Verhulst, and who ever else can make it. Linda, does Germantown have any decent places to eat, since that's kind of a half way point?
I agree about Wing Ding may not be the best time to have our 1st CC-H meeting/Union. Nevada, now that sounds cool. I've never been there. Well, maybe once when I was in the Navy. Dessert Hot Springs I think it was, but I was on leave in the back of a big ole travel camper with a bunch of other wayward sailors. (don't remember much of that trip)
The wife doesn't like to go long distances on the Wing, yet, but if I get a plane ticket for her that says Las Vegas.....she'll jump all over that baby. I'll just swoop in to Vegas, pick her up before she gambles all the money away (wouldn't take too long), and then go find you guys in what sounds to be like area 55, that way Robin can have his family reunion too. (did I just say that?)
Anyway, keep those ideas coming, and our travel coordinators (Robin & Linda) will narrow it down.

I think South Dakota is doable. That's approximately in the middle. Coming from the west that's almost middle of the country, 1300 miles. They have Mt Rushmore, Badlands Natl Park and Wind Cave Natl Park. I'm sure there's more. That's all that shows on a U.S. map. If we did this late September? I'm certain that there is somewhere that we can find outside of the parks to meet. This would certainly get our Canadian friends in on the action. The problem is that it is almost 1900 miles for those in Florida. I was trying to find something that was about 1500 miles away from California that would still be interesting. That way most states would be coming about the same distance. Of course since my daughter is not on a traditional school schedule I would have to find a way to do this. May be a very fast trip for me if I can make it at all. Darn schedules.

There are many good campgrounds in South Dakota, especially in the Black Hills area. The City Park in Spearfish is really nice, there are several KOA's (they are motorcycle friendly), as well as state parks; Sylvan Lake is a really pretty area. Does anyone know what the reservation policy is for the SD Parks?

Hello everyone,

I am glad to see that there so many that are changing their minds and planning on being there for the 9th.

I will be trailering my bike down, and am staying at the Econo Lodge in Eaton. If anyone has problems with their ride, and needs a trailer or tools, I will have both with me.If anyone would like my cell phone number just in case....e-mail me and I will sent it to you.

Greg
Please give me some more information on when and where everyone will be having dinner, My Linda and I will be leaving central New York early Friday morning, so we could meet everyone prior to going to the Econo Lodge in Eaton.

I rechecked the airfares and the $1800 is a bit steep and greater than the credit I have with American Airlines. So, I think i'll have to vicariously live the event through email postings, pictures and could someone shoot some video?

I just did a 450+ mile ride to Portland, Oregon and back. It's a bit brisk here in the NW (25 degrees at night and mid 50's in the daylight and clear blue skies with no rain).

ENJOY the time everyone.

Hello all! Good to find the new thread. Need to get the daily Hines fix and see how the preparations are going.

Noni has never been much of a cold weather rider before, but today we did 225 miles as a "practice for the ride to OHIO" on the 8th. The destination was Niehaus Honda in Litchfield, IL where we picked up some connectors to hook up her "new-used" Gerbing heated pants to her homemade heated jacket. A fellow Winger in PA sold us his Gerbing's (they were too short for him) and shipped them off in time for the upcoming trip. I figure a warm, dry co-rider is a happy co-rider. IF the weather turns out to be just lousy, then I'll have a warm, dry co-rider in a cage. We prefer to plan for reasonably good weather.

We will be arriving at the EconoLodge near Eaton around 4pm-5pm on Friday and hope to meet some of you before the Saturday event. Another couple from Chapter IL-J plans to come in later that night.

Can't believe I'm as excited about this event as I am. But, I AM.

Robin, I officially didn't have to cut wood today because she had a craft show today, so she was selling, and I was playing. Last show is in 3 weeks, so.....back to the dungeon.
There's a few pictures on my web site of what she makes. don't worry, it's not a sales pitch. I'm done cutting!

Bob, if your coming in from New York, you'll be coming across I-70. After you pass through Columbus, then Springfield, pick up I-675, and go south. (only way you can go) 675 will dead end in to I-75, go north 1 exit (less than a mile) and that will be the Miamisburg/Springboro exit #43, route 725. I live 5 minutes off the exit. Joe Durning, and Gary Verhulst will be staying at the Red Roof Inn off the exit. At the end of the exit ramp, turn left on 725, go under the expressway to the 1st intersection. That will be Byers road, and there will be a Shell & a BP there. Turn left and you see Red Roof Inn. Now you can park your rig there, and/or come to my house. What time of day do you think you'll be there? I'll be pick Joe, Bonnie, and their group up at the airport, but we don't know what time yet. Estimate 3 1/2 to 4 hours from Cleveland.
Check your e-mail for more.

Jeff, Friday night dinner is still up in the air as far as time goes. Not sure when folks will make it in to town yet. I'm going to see if there is a half way decent place to eat in Germantown, which is half way between Eaton, and Miamisburg. That would be a 20 minute drive for you from Eaton. MY DEAREST FAMILY OF FRIENDS:

It's past my bedtime so I hope I'll make some sense and no too many mistakes.

Tim and Jeff: Have plenty of room here (cousins). Like I said, I'd hate for ANYONE who makes a long trip to have to put out the $'s to motel it. Tim, when I checked the airline board for flight information, I didn't see anything that would cost $1800. Did you get that quote on the phone or did you cut out the middle man and go online? If you can book a flight on line you can get it cheaper and still be able to use your air miles It would be so grand to have as any of you "Special People" here for the presentation as possible. You ALL are the type of folks that I would want to ride with.
I can't hardly see the board with my eyesight, sso I'll close for now and get some sleep but will check in the morning. Good night for now.

God Bless!

Hey Linda I couldn't sleep so here I am back at the keyboard with my head phones on listening to my riding music so I don't wake my co-rider, funny but the song playing is " all night long " Since I work nights it's hard to sleep when I'm off. I'm glad to hear that everything is coming together and that Bill is still unaware as to what is happening, I'm sure he will be surprised to see Big Red 2. I wish we could be there but as I stated in another post it is just to far to travel, since we have things to do here for our Toys for Tots ride it wouldn't be right to leave at this time, this toy run is the highlight of the year for us and we put out alot of food for the the riders, we make nothing on this, and everything goes to the United States Marines Corps Reserves Toys for Tots program. I'm running on I guess so I'll close, Take care and I'll be checking with you Greg so see when your page is up so that we can see the bike and the members from the big GW that turned out, thanks again.

As Rick did, Jean and I went for a little ride today. Temp was about the same as Rick's, mid to upper 40's.
Was test run for clothing. With Ski bibs and Joe Rocket (ballistic 3 with liner), It was comfortable.
Now all I have to do is change the oil, and install the new water pump.

Off to check the weather now.

I was asked to post the directions to the event but, I don't think that would be a good idea to have directions to Judi's house here for just anyone to see. The board can be seen by anyone and wouldn't want to have the wrong person get hold of them.

GOOD MORNING MY FAMILY OF FRIENDS:

I just can't kick the habit of logging on every morning and every evening. I guess we need to form a support group for those of us that has the same problem.

Boy I was tired last night when I posted, kept falling asleep with fingers on the keyboard. We had just gotten home from Judi & Dave's yearly hayride and I guess all that fresh air made me so sleepy. Our youngest Granddaughter, Melissa, fell asleep on the haywagon. Bless her little heart. I think she had a ball playing with the other kids. Anyway, her and grandpa are still in bed.

Hooray for the weather forecast!!!! The temp last night was 37 degrees during the ride and it didn't feel too cold out, so......Me thinks we will have even better weather next weekend. I'm thrilled to see the numbers rising for those who plan to come. I met the fellow and his son who will be bring the food wagon to Judi's and they are both real sweethearts. The son stayed for the hayride while dad went to his other son's band contest. I think he had a good time, I know I got a lot of hugs from him. What a sweety!!

As far a eating places in Germantown, that's a tuffy for me. I know there's a bed and breakfast on the main street but that may be a little pricey. One block north of the main drag there is Kathy's that serves good food but closes at 3 p.m., then just down from Kathy's is a place called the Roost. It's done up in 50's decor. Judi is the real expert on eating places around there. I'll have her get in touch with Greg or he can get in touch with her. Saturday evening don't worry. I'll have enough stuff to feed a 3rd world nation!

Everyone have a good day and stay safe. Not long now!! Family is getting up, see you later.

God Bless!
Love and Prayers,
Linda

Good Morning Everyone,

Well, our schedule is set for Friday morning. Linda and I will be leaving around 7 AM. We will be taking I-90 west, to 271 to 71 south to Columbus. Then catch I-70 west to 675 south and then on into Miamisburg to have dinner with the everyone there. After that, on to the Econo Lodge in Eaton, where we will be staying until Sunday Morning and then back to upstate NY by the reverse route.

If anyone is traveling along that route and would like my cell number, e-mail me at
rsp1@safe-mail.net. Also if you see a blue/silver Ford Pick-up with an enclosed gray trailer (and a RED wing inside), give us a toot on the horn, or channel 19 on the CB.

Now, all I have to do is get everything caught up prior to Friday.

BEFORE I FORGET, if you have not sent me a picture yet, Please, Please do so.
If you are going to be in Ohio and have not sent a picture, Let me know and I will take the picture for you.

Thanks to everyone,
Bob

Linda & Robin:

I am now coming!! I rechecked the AA flight schedule and found fares to my liking. I just need to finalize how long I should be there. As it stands now, I can fly out at 6am on Friday morning and be in Dayton at 4:45pm local time or take a redeye that will put me in Dayton at 10am in the morning on Friday. I've sent a direct email to Linda asking how long the event will run on Saturday as that will indicate when I can leave to return (either Sat or Sun will work from a fare standpoint).

Linda or Robin would you email me offlist with any additional information and I'll very much look forward to meeting all of you and represent the great Pacific Northwest at this fine event.

MY DEAREST FAMILY OF FRIENDS:

Kleenex time again!!! Happy tears though for all that are dropping everything and planning on being here for the presentation. If you believe in the power of prayer, keep doing it. I pray several times a day for good, dry weather for you all and so far, so good.

I know this all started with a simple "want ad" for a Goldwing for Bill, but through Joe, then Tommy (checkbook in hand) and Greg taking the helm, it has flourished into an event that I think God wanted to bring us all together. I think we ARE a TRUE FAMILY OF FRIENDS and this event was to bring us all together. Traveling with the military so many years I never had friends for life. I'd make friends then either they would get transferred or I would. Now I know that I have life long friends anywhere I go. I think most of us are old enough to remember the show "Queen for a Day"? Come Saturday that's how I'm going to feel seeing my hubby being so happy again.

Robin: Your comment earlier about "area 57", you my friend I choose to ride along with us to find this weird place. Seeing is believing. My grandpa retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base and every time I'd ask him about that hanger where the military was suppose to have that UFO that crashed in the desert, where was that? Anyway, he had extremely high clearance as he built that hanger, he'd just say "believe". And NO, I'm not nuts, at least not yet. If I have to keep this secret much longer all bets are off in the sanity department.

Ron: Like the idea of "Hines Spring Fling" so our Canadian friends will be thawed out by then to attend. What does everyone think?

Allen: I'm not sure if you can hook up with anyone on the ride down, but I'd bet Bill's pension he'd be the first to volunteer to escourt you home after he sees "Big Red II"

Tim: I'll catch you on the regular email when I close here, but plan on staying till Sunday. There is a hayride planned for Saturday night and I've prepared enough food to feed an army.

Going to close for now my dear, dear friends and hop over to my email department. I usually have over 100+ emails in the morning and 100+ each evening ( and there is not that many that are junk).

God Bless!!!
Love and Prayers,
Linda

Hi all

This friendship/family event just keeps on getting more exciting for me. Can hardly wait until Bill Hines gets in on it, too.

After they made the contribution, the members of Chapter J here in Illinois have followed the planning progress. I just got an e-mail telling me that seven more members plan to come for the presentation on the 9th. Guess Noni and I won't be riding alone after all. In addition to ourselves we will have Jim & Donna Peregoy from Normal, Roger & Linda Otto from Hudson, Dave & Sherrie Leavens from Bloomington, and Mike Ogle from Normal.

Linda, sounds like the two of you might be retired from the military. Be sure to compare notes with Dave & Sherrie Leavens about all those years with Uncle Sam.

God Bless you all for the love that has made this thing happen.

Here's to good weather, good friends, and happy memories. See you on Friday and Saturday.

MY DEAREST FAMILY OF FRIENDS:

Sorry I didn't get to say hi this morning but I hit the floor a running and haven't stopped yet.

Only 5 days until I get to meet all you great, wonderful friends. I feel like a kid in a candy store. Wing World came today and is hidden in my sewing stuff....a place where no man ventures to go. I was really touched that Mike Wright included it in his article. There is nothing like reading about good news that warms the heart.

I saw somewhere on the board the total is up to 107.. GOOD JOB EVERYONE AND WELCOME ALL OUR NEW FRIENDS!!!!!!!
}I will be checking in everyday, just don't know what time. I have been making and freezing chili and sloppy joes for an army. I Love every minute of it too!!!!

The last word I heard on the weather is in the 60's Saturday and Sunday with no rain. (Ain't sending the voo doo lady home yet though) Prayers seem to be working just fine so far.

Have to make this short, still working on that quilt I should have had done a week ago, but it will be ready by the weekend. Take Care and Stay SAFE!!!

Good morning everyone its snowing in Minn this morning must have an inch or so in Southern Minn sure hope it doesn't hang around to long its 28 degrees right now so I'm sure once the sun comes out it will be gone. Election Day today everyone make sure to get out and vote for their favorite canidates. If you don't vote you don't have much to complain about when your choice don't get elected..

I KNOW SOMETHING BILL DON'T KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOOD MORNING MY DEAREST FAMILY OF FRIENDS:

I just had to say that. It's going to be a busy day here so this will have to be short. It will be in the 60's Friday and Saturday and the night lows in the upper 40's. Doesn't seems too bad.

Have a great day and will catch up to you later on this evening,

If memory serves me we were near 550 post on the old thread. do Y'all realize that if these threads were combined we are at almost 700 post on 1 subject! I don't think this group has ever agreed this much on anything. Guess it just goes to show us what it would be like if we all thought about the "other person" first all the time.

MY DEAREST FAMILY OF FRIENDS:

I do believe that with the original thread that we are well over the 700 mark, can't say for sure. The one thing I know for a FACT, is that you all are a TERRIFIC group of people. Who knows, with all these postings and the private emails I've been getting, this could turn into one great book. I've never laughed and cried so much in my life! Maybe we are looking at a movie of the week........ummmmmmmm who could we get to play Joe? Tommy? Greg? Robin? Ron? Jack and Jolene? Me and of course, Bill? We use to call him Ernest T Bass because he always wore his baseball cap sideways, but finally he wears it right now. I must be getting tired, I'm getting silly now. You can just imagine how nutso I'll be by Saturday.

I truly am anxious to meet you all in just 4 more wake ups. I'll be picking up Tim at the airport Friday morning, so Tim see you then. I'll be looking for the red Goldwing jacket and you can look for Julia Roberts.

Have a few more emails to answer before I hit the hay so I'll see ya'll in the morning.

God Bless!
Love and Prayers,
Linda

Hello All. This is my first post to this Board cause I'm Stupid and can't follow simple directions. I too wish I could be at the Presentation. found out about this on the GL1800 riders Board around the 1st of Oct or so. I think this is a wonderful thing Ya'll are doing and I too was wondering if a web cam can be set up to cover the event. If not that how about transfering Video to that CD that is in development. I don't know how that's done but I know it can be. We must have a Computor Geek or two that know how to do that. Annyway you folks have a Grand Time and I know it's been said before but I truley believe the Lord will and has Blessed each and every one of you.

This is going to be fun!!

Leaving in a little over 24 hours. I'm looking forward to dinner on Friday night.

Greg: Can you send one email tomorrow to each of us that has phone #'s, addresses, and any other information so we all make sure that we have all of the contact and event information. Can you also indicate generally where most people are going to be staying? Thanks again for your leadership in this endeavor.

MY DEAREST FAMILY OF FRIENDS:

I've been keeping up on you all, but I've hardly had time to sit down and write. You are constantly in my heart, thoughts and prayers.

Today looks to be reallllllllllll busy! I've got to sneak some things to Judi's, get chairs, tables, clean (YUCK!), you know last minute stuff.

No one plays a small part in this, everyone is very important to me and I thank you so much. Also, if anyone is wondering what we can do after the bike is delivered as far as e-mail, we have all winter to plan a reunion

Got to get busy, hope to see a lot of new posts with everyone's plans this evening.

God Bless!

My Friends and Extended Family Members!
Greetings and Salutations!
While I had hoped that Mary and I could attend this joyous event, it has become painfully obvious that we will have to make plans to meet everyone next summer at the "First Annual Hines Ding", wherever that may be. Let's not take too long planning where it will happen so I can make sure to lock in the travel plans. We do want everyone that is traveling to know that you will be in our hearts and prayers for a safe journey, and as we can't make it on Saturday, every one of you who attend have to provide our hugs to the entire group for us! If and when Joe stops crying the tears of joy I know he is going to cry, somebody give him another hug too.
The overwhelming out pouring of support and love being shown here is one reason that I am proud to be associated with this group. We may fight and bicker like brothers and sisters always do, but when one of the family is in need, we can do miraculous things! Give yourself a hug and know that you are part of a wonderful family!
Bless you all!
Ride Safe!

I agree with Jerry. We, too, are unable to attend the presentation, but are looking forward to going to the "Hines Ding" next year. Since we're in Iowa we should be within easy riding distance of where ever it will be held. We just have to decide where that will be, and when. Until then we'll just have to appreciate the opportunity to be involved and wait for the photos to be posted to Greg's website. Here's hoping and praying that everyone has a safe trip to, and from, the presentation.

Gotta run out and get the goodies for Sat. and pack. We are staying at the Econolodge in Eaton tomorrow night. Unfortunately I have to work on Sunday, so we will have to leave sometime late Sat. afternoon, early Sat. evening.

Looking forward to meeting a bunch of people from here, and hoping I can halfway control my emotions on Sat. morning.

Jim & everybody else that can't make, we understand, and will have you in our thoughts. I've come to learn a lot of names, and have met some of the people. This is what it's all about for me. My wife & I decided to get a little more active with riding & socializing the past year, and it has shown me a whole new life. I love meeting the people, and seeing the beautiful country in the process. When we speak of things like the reunion, and where it should be, we know that getting there is part of the thrill, and adventure, not a hurdle. I look forward to thousands and thousands of miles in our future, and with that will come the riches of having new friends.
Well, didn't mean to sound speechy, but I'm watching this event about to peak after 4-5 weeks, and what a enlightening journey it's been.
All the supporters should have been e-mailed by me with the first set of pictures, of Big Red 2. I hope my little old web site is up for the task. http://www.iwing.org/photo_album5.0.html

I concur with Jerry! I'm off to the airport in 1/2 hour for a 1AM Seattle departure to one of the most impressive events I've been a part of in a long, long time. I, like Greg, have become active. I have only ridden a motorcycle for 9 months (12,500 miles) after never haven owned or ridden one. Associating with GWRRA has been one of the most positive experiences of my life. My wife and I were selected as WA-Chapter A Couple of the Year and we'll be ambassadors for our chapter for a year.

Sitting here in the Econolodge just north of Eaton. Jill and I are relaxing after a great dinner in Germantown with new friends/family. The food was great and the company was even better.

I wish I had some pictures to post, but the batteries for my camera were dead, so none from tonight from me. I have the batteries charging right now, and will have pictures online tomorrow night.

Less than 12 hours until Christmas!!

Well, I an see that while I have been trying to clear my eyes, that there have been a couple more posts. All there in Ohio must be in complete suspense .. just like in kindergarden class when some one cuts gas.....just all giggley!!

Thought I made it through supper (dinner for some a y'all), even made it over to some friends house with a peach pie and cool whip to help keep my thoughts straight......then got to the puter as soon as I came through the door --saw Greg's page with the pics of Big Red 2 being delivered for final touch ups, having the names added and the plaque from BademakerII (that's what my granson would say is "Totally AWESOME"). Completely lost it then and not ashamed to say so.

I know many of us can't make the trip although each and everyone of us wants to be there, don't know what you brother's and sister's will do tomorrow -- but for me (in the white stuff), I'll just have to go out and sit on "Snuggles", close my eyes and feel the Spirit of being there. Bill's and Linda's smiles should shine like the northern lights even in bright daylight.

There's only so much room up there on the stage of life, so I'm hoping that one of the few who can be there will represent many of us that have to be in the audience, this time.

To each and everyone, whether in Ohio or at home -- I'm wishing a good day tomorrow, safe roads if you're on a ride and praying that everyone makes it home in the same health you left in.

To all my GWRRA brothers and sisters, this has been one heck of a trip and I think you can all be proud of what WE have accomplished, I know it won't be long before I start looking at every jacket and vest -- constantly searching for the Hines Wing Pins that will be out there. Hoping to find many and shake the hands of those wearing that little treasure.

Till then, or at least till tomorrow ... good night to everyone wherever you may be.

TODAY'S THE DAY!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS BILL> At 10:00 am my thoughts will be in Ohio. Hope the weather cooperates. I'd love to be able to come riding out of that barn and see the look on Bills face. Today I'll be puttin together Santa's sleigh and mounting it over my cargo trailer. Getting ready for the three local toy runs. Tomorrow I'm taking another ERC and Monday I'm riding in the local Veterans Day Parade. That should be enough to keep me from obsessing about not being able to go to Ohio.

Good Morning Hwg'ers,
It is now 6:45 am and in 30 minutes Jolene and I will be getting on the trike and heading for Judi Sims house, we, all of us that attended last nights dinner (57) of us HWG'ers litterly took over the rest. In a good way of course, had a wonderful time took so many digital pictures, ate so much good food and got so many hugs my arms are sore, all of your are absolutly correct, as we prepare to leave the house it is really hard to describe the feeling that we have for this couple the we also have not met, but we know that you will be one (1) overwhelmed human being, we are giving and I guess the old saying is correct,
IT IS BETTER TO GIVE THAN RECEIVE! BILL & LINDA Jolene and I hope you enjoy BIG RED2 as much as we have in being able to give it to you. and with that I will close Bill with this.
SEE YOU IN THREE HOURS!!!!!!

Good morning everybody. It's a wonderful day to be alive. Still wishing that I could be there, but am so proud to have been able to share in this experience. With all the hugging, shaking hands, back slapping and chili eating, I bet we'll be able to feel the love all the way down here in Alabama

Good morning to all. I see that I am like so many others ... got up and looked out the window, thought about O-hi-o, and booted up the computer was coffee was brewing. Darn, I wish I could be there. Is GWRRA a great bunch of people, or what?

And I want to mention a public word of thanks to the several who did the grunt work: Greg, Robin, Judi, Gary & Shirl, and others. Their can-do attitude illustrates the best of generosity and community spirit. The many places they live are better places because of them.

Well, zero hour is almost here I can't hardly see the keyboard, I'm so proud to be a member of this organization, words just can't express the way I feel right now tears are rolling off my cheeks as I try to type this out. I have to run into town real quick like and get back so I can go sit on my bike in about 40 minutes. Thanks to everyone that made this possible and to all the hard work Greg and the rest of you organizers did without your hardwork this project would never had been pulled off. And Linda I don't know how you did it to keep a secret like this you had to of been busting at the seams to keep it in this long, you are the best, Love from Minnesota to both you and Bill..

Just 23 more minutes and DING...... WE WILL ALL BE SMILING and drying our eyes, no matter where we are....for me, just got above 35*F so guess my tears of joy won't freeze.

I know the sun comes up in the East, but man... there sure is one heck of a bright beacon over there towards the West right now!! Maybe that's where our fortunate little bit of warmth is coming in from this AM.

Getting closer, got to go get ready......

I went out and sat on my bike yesterday, closed my eyes and tried to visualize what it was like in Ohio. I seen a bunch of people standing around hugging each other, crying and shaking hands with people that were only names in the past. Last night when I had a chance to begin looking at pictures I realized that maybe I was there in spirit even if I wasn't there in person. What a great bunch of pictures and if a video is available in the future I would be interested in one. Like Jerry said above Thank God to the ones that are home safe and prayers for a safe ride for those that are still traveling.

We got home safe after a fantastic weekend. Got in the house, started coffee, turned on computer, got teary all over again just reading everything. Looked out and it was raining buckets, guess we made it home just in time. Was really wonderful to meet all of you and the most important thing was to see the look in Bills face and see him try to stay standing as the reality of it started to sink in!!!!!!!!

Last Wednesday, I tried to take a count of all the posts involved in the Hines Wing effort.... it was over 1000 posts then with all combined threads.

I was printing the "original" thread (I was gonna bring a printed copy and give it to Bill) and I had over 200 pages with just the original thread.

So I suggest to anyone who's thinking of printing it ALL out, dont try sending it to your print que all at once. I was having to highlight and "print selection only" in small chunks so it wouldnt lock my 'puter up.

I have all the posts saved, as of last night, with the counts. Before the delivery on Saturday, we were over 1000 combined posts, so we have to have busted 1100 and be headed towards 1200. I am trying to keep it all collected and I will be compiling them all on a CD, using the General board layout to access the threads, so it will all look right. I don't know if we will ever know the final count because i doubt we'll ever stop talking about this. I sure won't.

One thing good also, is I think I heard a pension, or something was going to start kicking in. He told BC that , with the new pension he was going to start saving for a BR2. So since that's done, he might have a few extra bucks for the new doctor bills. Sure don't here them hurting for anything now. Just taking the light lenses apart and cleaning then with a Q-Tip. You know, your average maintenance....
