The deed is done! You cant believe the excitement here inthis yard now. I sneaked in the house and came online to get to have the honor of letting you know that WE DONE GOOD!!!!

Bill is out back sitting on BIG RED 2, everyone is hugging him and Linda, and I never seen so may tears in my LIFE!

I'm sure I'll be doing a LOT of typing when I get home to my own keyboard, but I'll leave you with this... Even right up to the end of my speech, BILL NEVER KNEW!!!! (In fact he as I handed the Keys to Linda to present to him, he looked at me and holding his hands open wide like asking a question, he said to me "This is so nice. What is this, just for today?"

THAT'S when we almost need the oxygen for him.

I wish you all could be here! EVERYONE DID SUCH A WONDERFUL THING, and it came to fruition here in Gratis, Ohio just a few moments ago.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL....

I'm so glad that he was surprised. I can only imagine the anticipation prior to the event. I worked late so I'm just getting on. However, the first thing I did was start this computer. Good thing the cam's not on here, shudder. A fantastic job has been done by all. A great big congratulations to everyone. And a huge WELCOME BACK TO TWO WHEELS BILL.
Have a fantastic day everyone. I'll be lurking here for the rest of the day looking for pictures.

They probably aren't posting pictures yet because poor Bill is probably still reading all of the posts that have been made over the last 4 weeks. It's like reading your favorite novel, but with a much better ending. Buuuuuut, I'm still waiting for pictures.

Greetings from the Sims' Farm. I've seen and filmed something that Joe's not seen!!! Bill took his first ride on his new WING!!!.

I've shot 1 hour of video of the entire event (including Joe's presentation speech) which will become available after I get home along with lots of still images that I'll make available.

For those who weren't able to be here, it's very hard to describe the emotion of the event. From the bewilderment of Bill not knowing what's going on and everyone else knowing, to Joe giving his choked up presentation speech, to Linda crying tears of joy, to Gary Verhulst beaming like a proud papa (or grandpapa), to Gary and Judi our hosts putting up with 118 guests and many motorcycles, to watching Bill kiss his new motorcycle and being unable to ride it for several hours because his knees were shaking, to watching all these teary-eyed people enjoying each other.

Yes, folks, this is where GWRRA is at. It's about the people. Many Wingers helping one Winger. I'd encourage any of you to become involved with a similar cause. Embrace it as your own. Drink it in deep. Savor the moment. Enjoy the flavor. It will last.

James: We're all "cousins" now!

When Linda picked me up, she loaned me her truck and told Bill that she loaned the truck to cousin "Tim" from Seattle who's here for a family reunion. Then again at the Hines event today, we all referred to ourselves as cousins.

WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!What a feeling!!!!!!!
We just got home from Gratis & the Hine`s Wing presentation. Boy was that worth the trip. Nothing can express the feeling as Bill tried to figure out why all the people and Wings were coming up into the back yard of The Sims ranch.
Bill just stood there with a blank look on his face and his arms extended out saying "What is this all about?" Well before long the tears were rolling everywhere and smiles were on every face. It took a little bit for Bill to stop shaking and mount BR2. Then a few more minutes before he could turn the key and bring her to life, but when he did the group roared and smiled as BR2 purred like a kitten.

Man what excitement.

Now I will go sort through some pictures and get something posted so all of you can enjoy also.

Greg,Joe, Linda and all who were involved, We done good! Bill will never forget today!

Jill and I arrived home about an hour ago, quickly unpacked the car and jumped on the computer to get our pictures posted. (see post titled "Hines Wing Pictures on the Web!!!!!!!!!!"

Like Mike said, Oh What A Feeling!! There wasn't a dry eye in the house. My wife Jill said she had never seen so many grown men cry at one time.

Our thanks to Judy Sims and husband (gawd, I'm terrible with names!!) for opening their home to all of us.

To Greg, Joe, Robin, and everyone else involved in the logistics, THANKS A MILLION!! We all appreciate your hard work and dedication to such a wonderful cause.

To Linda Hines, thank you for giving all of us a reason to believe in ourselves and our fellow man again. You are one special lady, and Bill is one lucky man. May the two of you enjoy life on BR2 for millions of (s)miles.

To the Hines Wing Family, I'll say it one more time...

WE DONE GOOD!!

good evening everyone who didn't make it to the Hines Group 2002> it was said today that on 9-11 was a very sad and somber day for us all, but here in ohio we do things a little different and we had an absolutly beautiful 11-9 and we all were laughing and crying, Bill Hines is a big sissy he cried most of the time, and so did Joe and Greg and myself. This Event went off without a hitch, Bill actually had the key in his hand and had no idea the Wing Was HIS. Thanks everyone

I am an emotional wreck right now. It's all starting to hit me. So, I guess I'm a sissy. That's okay by me. Bill Hines is a hell of a man, and has some stories. I'll check back in later on. We're leaving to meet them for dinner now.
Thanks everybody.

What A Day!!! Eight members of IL-J got back home about an hour ago and spent most of the 5 hour trip marveling at the joy of today's events and even shedding some tears of happy emotion HOURS after we left. (You would have thought we would have been totally dried out from the earlier festivities).

Linda Hines is a wonderful lady and Bill Hines is a fortunate fellow and it has been a major blessing to be a small part of this GWRRA family gift.

We can't say enough good about the work so many people put forth to make this happen.

And, from the first minutes we arrived at the EconoLodge on Friday afternoon, we met and fellowshipped with Wingers we had only known by name from the boards! It took me an hour and a quarter to even get around to going into my room because of the group that gathered in the parking lot.

The Friday night dinner was great! What a turn-out! What a good time!

BUT...MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL. BILL HINES IS BACK ON A WING! It took him a long time to comprehend that what was happening was REALLY what was happening. IT WAS FANTASTIC.

We just returned home (to Bill & Linda's) from dinner in Miamisburg (1/2 ride). Of course Bill rode Big Red 2 to dinner and back. As an up close observer, it is hard to express what the day has meant to Bill. He's incredibly appreciative of what has happened to him.

Upon arriving home, even though he needed to use the restroom, he continued to walk around BR2 and admire it, check out the lights, and of course when he was asked to go get some goodies from the store, he hopped right back on BR2 and headed off into the night!

I'll post a picture later of BR2 safely in the garage.

Thanks again goes to Greg, Joe, Gary, Steve, the Sims' and Robin and the many others who helped make this day possible. It has been one of the significant days of my life and I'm sure in many others.
