I have some questions on the Hines Project I cann't seem to find. Has a bike been purchased? If so, what year, color, etc. Has it been paid for or are you still taking donations? Did all who pledged send the money? (don't mean to be mean but we all know how humans are about putting things off) And finally, when and where is the presentation going to take place.

Greg's right here.
The bike is a Red 96SE.
It should arrive at Jack Huddles house today, and get lettered on Wednesday. (Big Red II)
I will go over to Jacks on Wednesday evening, and purchase the bike., and trail it home, then take it to Judi Simms house on Friday (or Thursday) Insurance has been obtained.
I asked to stop on the donations, we have exceeded our goal. I will be posting the final numbers, and where all the money is going, but in the bank is $10,399.55. Can you say......WOW.
We will have the presentation at the Sims house in Gratis. That is Linda Hines sister, and is 20 minutes away from Eaton. Linda will bring Bill over in order to "fix something" wink wink, then we will all come out from behind the barn, and surprise him. I have to leave now to pick up my daughter, but will make a post for directions when I get back.

Greg...

I had stated in the other thread that I don't believe posting directions would be a good idea.
Anyone can read this board and who knows if some nut would get hold of that information.
This of course, Judi should have the final say in.

Someone needs to make sure the folks who put the WW together know about this. Maybe they will add a section in one of the issues with a pic or two.

Dang good job you folks have done!!

Greg, my wife and I would just like to say, we are proud of the way you, and the membership, in this organization GWRRA have pulled together to help out the Hines family. We bought our 2002 Goldwing this past August and joined GWRRA that same day. No regrets here. It is so nice to be a part of an organization where members put others ahead of themselves. My wife and I consider you guys Angels in a world that is really hurting. We only know you folks from the threads you right and hope one day we can meet with all of you who have contributed to this good cause. The coming together from people who don't even know who the Hines are to help just one family. That's what LOVE is all about. I'm not trying to get gooshy, just want to say thank you for allowing my family to see that humanity, love, and fellowship is still alive and well, and living in peoples hearts. We too do not know the Hines family, but know them in our hearts. And the wonderful thing it is to love someone so much as you do Mrs. Hines. Thank you all, Hilton and Lona.

Hilton: I'll represent the Pacific NW as I'm flying there on Friday. I'm looking forward to meeting more of the GW family. I, too, am a recent owner (purchased in 9/01, ridden since 2/02, put 12k+ miles on in my first year of riding). I'm liking what I'm seeing.

MY DEAREST FAMILY OF FRIENDS:

Yes you will hear from me further down the thread but I wanted to take this opportunity to tell Richard Brown he IS ON IT, just by caring and for the wonderful post.

Hilton and Lona welcome to the family. You have no idea how many there are of you that has been here for me and Bill. I don't know how much the newbies have read on this board, but we will try to have a "Family Reunion" somewhere centralized so all can meet.

Greg, Tommy, Robin, Joe (from jaw ja') Tim, Ronald, and many others have been great making me cry one minute and laugh the next. Love you ALL!!

God Bless!
Love and Prayers,
Linda

I'm officially committed. I went over to the SEATAC airport (very near my home), acquired my ticket and turned in my flight credits that I received when I recently volunteered to be bumped on a flight segment. Now I know why I received so much credit! So I get to fly for free and get more mileage posted to my account and participate in a what's going to be a joyous yet tear-filled event.

As the ticket agent was preparing the ticket, I told her the story of why I was taking the trip and she was almost in tears. With much more of the details she would have probably paid me to take the trip!

So I'll see all of you on Friday 11/08. I'm trying to arrange going to the Air Force Museum during the day on Friday and perhaps again on Sunday, but I've got to work out the details.

Thanks again Greg for starting this.

Trying to work this all out now to be able to make it this weekend.

I'm not accusing Rob of "sandbaging"... but I been thinking about the head-count for this thing. And I'm wonderin' how many folks that live within oh, say 100 miles will just show up Saturday morning and not bother to tell anyone they're comin' ?

I told Bonnie yesterday that I'll bet we have WAY MORE than 100 folks there. I hope someone has called the local TV station. This will be GREAT Public Relations for the motorcycling community...

ONLY 5 MORE DAYS TILL CHRISTMAS

Joe,

I have thought the same thing more than once. Especially since the local count is un mentionable.
I know there will be others in the count like from family members of Judi and Linda. Not a problem not having them in the count.

Greg okay bud fess up here. You can't possibly not be bringing your off spring?

Scott and Richard,

WingWorld knows. If you haven't received the December issue yet, part of Linda's ad was published. Check out "Chicken Soup for The Soul," somewhere around page 3 or so. Very nicely done piece - hopefully Bill doesn't get to the WingWorld before Linda! Bill is not mentioned by name but it fills in the picture pretty well!

And as I recall, some of the staff may have made personal donations.

Bob,

Linda is aware of the article, in fact Mike let Greg know and asked when do they get WW around that area.
Linda is on the look out just in case.

The count now stands at 105.

Have some things to do so will be gone for a while.
