most of you probably already have the email from Greg with the update on the funds.
Greg says that after the party expenses, pins for all, etc, there is still 301.00 left.

I suggest that it be left with Greg to split among himself and any others that may have some expenses to cover.
If there are no more expenses, use it to buy something for himself and the others in recognition of the time and effort put into this very successful project.

We dont WANT any "special" recognition. That's what this was all about..... Helping someone ELSE! I'll bet if you asked all 188 folks that contributed, NONE of them would want to be recognized above anybody else.

When all is done and settled, anything that's left will be given to the Hines. After all, that's what it was sent in for, right?

I concur with Joe. Give the leftover money to Bill and Linda. He is right. It was raised for them and should be given to them to help with the expenses of Big Red 2. After all, I think Bill will be needing to by LOTS of gas while the weather is still nice enough to ride.

Well, the spirit of Jeff's post is certainly commendable. But the simplest route is to just send it along to Bill and Linda. That honors the intent of all the donors, and protects Greg or anyone else from any shadow of criticism for what might later be construed as "personal gain."

My .12 cents on that topic

I agree with others that the money was to help buy this wing for Bill and Linda, so the money should go to them to help maintain the motorcycle, buy gas, or what ever they want to do with it.

Well, chrome, eats, even a get-a-way by Bill and Linda while there's till time to ride all sound like good uses for the money to me. How about insurance or tags? It might be enough to pay for one or both of those items. Either way, it seems to me that rightfully it ought to be given to Bill and Linda.

Just my thought on the subject.

We all know that you guys weren't looking for any special recognition, and I didn't mean to imply that you were.
I just thought that maybe there were some uncovered expenses or something, but since it seems everything is covered,I'm all for giving the remainder to Bill & Linda.

I first want to commend Jeff Kelton for his suggestion to show our appriciation to all who helped make this happen. I started to make a list but stopped because I was afraid I would leave someone out. You all know who you are. I agree, send the remainder to Bill & Linda for something special that THEY would like. We're not "jumping" on you Jeff. Your heart's in the right place.... Thanks for thinking of it, but I think you see the trend here.

We're ALL richer for having taken part in this. I wouldnt trade it for all the world! I was at the dentist today, and told him and my hygenist about it. And like everyone ELSE I've told, they were pretty much in tears by the time I got done. My "one hour" appointment took an hour and a half! :-O:-O

Give it all to Bill and Linda to do with as they please.

As for what Jeff said, It is very thoughtful, and I thank you, But, I do not think that there is anything, and I say again anything that will top the feelings that we were having while watching Bill during the presentation. That alone was worth a thousand times more than was collected.....

Thanks to ALL...

Greg, you should have seen him yesterday at Pine Mountain. Jumped right up on the podium, holding the American flag in his right hand, and started speechifyin! Now you can't deny that, can you Joe?

Seriously though, it was great to receive his 1st hand knowledge of the presentation. He made us feel like we were there.
