And to so many more
people who's names I can't remember. Thanks, I had a super time at the Hines
Wing Party! It sure is nice to put faces to all of the names.....even if I can't
remember names . I told my wife that this was by far the coolest thing I have ever had
the good fortune to be involved with. I just can't get over this feeling of
"good will" that I picked up at the Sims farm on Saturday.
Bill
Hines, you are one lucky man, wives like yours are NOT a dime a dozen, she's
a keeper! Linda Hines, Every man in this world should be loved as much as
you love Bill, it would be a much better world. Thank you for starting this, I
can't tell you how good it made me feel! Greg (Hines) Hayden, what can I
say? YOU DA MAN!!! Joe Durning, you look different with hair. Just
kidding (well, really not but....) YOU DA MAN TOO!!! Robin Perna, thanks
for the tent offering and keeping me up to date. Sorry I didn't get a chance to
say hi, by the time you were pointed out to me things got a little busy
(Gentlemen, start your engines!) and I was never able to track you down before I
left. Dave & Judy Sims, thanks for throwing such an awesome party!!
It was really nice of you to have all of us over to your house. Jess
Tolbert, was that you that I passed on I-71 somewhere around Warsaw, KY? I
never got the chance to meet you either, but you were pointed out to me and as I
passed you on the road (if that was you) I recognized your jacket. BTW, was that
your EHRV (emergency Harley recovery vehicle) that was following you? Just
kidding, I read in an earlier post that you brought too many people with you to
all fit on the bike.
I hope that everyone had as much fun as I did, I
also hope that everyone can keep the good feeling going. In today's world we all
get pretty sick of hearing about the killings, robberies, bombing and all the
other negative stuff, it sure is good when something good like the Hines Project
comes along.
Now for a quick report on.....ME! My wife and I made it
home safe and sound at 8pm tonight. We left our house (in Shreveport, LA) Friday
at 5am, I dropped my wife off at her friend's house in Nashville at about 2pm.
From there I ran solo up to Cincinnati, got there at 8pm and got a room for the
night. That was the longest single day ride I've ever done, 855 miles. I left
the Hines party at 11:30am and was back in Nashville at 6pm. We got up and hit
the road at 9am and rode like hell for home. The wind sure sucked, but at least
we had great temps and NO rain the whole way! I rode 1797 miles, my wife was on
board for 1100 miles. Most of the time while my wife was on the bike I was
exceeding the 70mph limit, most of the time that I was solo I was exceeding the
posted......mmm.....80mph limit (that was 80 on those signs in KY &
OH...right?). As usual my 13 year old (90,000 mile) Goldwing's performed was
FLAWLESS! Thanks Honda. What a time! Can't wait for next years Hines Rally!

Mike: It was good to
meet you too. I was delayed and then moved to another flight out of DAYTON and
then missed two flights to Seattle so now I'm spending the night in Dallas
before flying on to Seattle.
Don "Poorboy" and I spent some quality time
with the Hines'. They are genuine folks.

I'm glad you got home
safe & sound. Wow, thats a long ride for some cake.
1797 miles
You da man...and lady.
Thanks for coming out, that kind of
representation helped make the party a success.
Tim, sorry your not home
yet. I will want to hear your stories. I'm jealous I didn't get to spend as much
time with the Hines, but they're now my new riding buddies, so I'll catch up.
