1st let me ask that this thread be for all of us who are unable to be at the Hines Wing Presentation to be a thread where we post a message to Bill. I would also like to ask that everyone limit this thread to just one post each. I know Bill will be amazed at how many have showed up, but let's show him the ones who could not make the trip, so he can see how big his new family really is.

Bill, you sure are a fortunate man to have such a wife who would try her best to get you back on a Gold Wing, even though this was not what she had in mind when she posted that first thread.

I am a very new member of the GWRRA family (since July 2002), but I was accepted in with open arms and realized that this has to be the best group of individuals that ever bonded together. When I saw how everyone was jumping on the bandwagon to get you back on a wing, I knew that joining the GWRRA had been one of the best moves I have ever made. It was a pleasure working with all of these people on such a wonderful and heart-warming project.

I sure wish that I could be there for the surprise, but was unable to arrange the time to attend. I have told Linda that my wife has relatives in the Zanesville area, so I am sure that we will meet one day, either in Ohio, Alabama or at a rally. God Bless you both, ride safe and enjoy.

To Bill (and Linda)
We wish we could be there to see all the great people and most importantly you when you finally know what has been going on. You have a great wife, and you must be a good guy to support and make sacrifices that you have made. Please enjoy and make more memories with Linda on Big Red II, and keep her (both Linda and the bike) in the best care you can. Without your knowledge you have helped make others feel good. And the warmth each of us get when we read the posts, and imagine your thoughts and feelings make us proud and privileged to be able to help. Enjoy, ride safe, and know that GWRRA is privileged to have folks like you and Linda as members.

Bill and Linda,
I wish that my wife and I could be there but time doesn't allow it. I have no doubt that your day tomorrow will be truly magical. We wish you the best of times on your new bike. Don't forget to get pictures of your rides and let us know how you are adjusting to the new family member. It was a real privilege to be a small part of this. To later learn that you and Linda are great big givers was just a plus. I hope that if you ever find yourself in California you will look us up. Linda has our contact info. Have many very happy and safe miles on BRII. I'll be taking my wife to lunch tomorrow on our Red wing, kind of a cross country joining of the festivities.

first of all...
Ron,GREAT IDEA!!

Bill,
Congrats on the new ride, and congrats for having such a great wife.
This would not have happened had she not cared enough for you to reach out to try to find another Goldwing for you.

I also am new to this organization, having joined in June this year.
I joined because I wanted to find people to ride with, and my first impression was that these people were the kind of people that I would be proud to ride with.

Little did I know how proud I would become to be part of such a group.
To think that a group of people would come together to buy a motorcycle for someone was unimaginable to me before now.
I am pleased that a very nice Wing was found for you,and I sincerely hope that you and Linda are able to enjoy it for many years to come.

I wish that I had been able to make it to Ohio, and now hope that we can cross paths sometime in the future.

Enjoy the day,and ride safe.

Bill,

You have one special lady in Linda. I would like to think my wife would do the same, but there's no wondering with Linda. She obviously loves you to the fullest, you should be very proud. Here's to hoping you enjoy BR2 and I sincerely hope to meet you and the rest of the Hines Group in the summer of 2003 at Hines Ding I.

Congratulations on your new ride!!

Linda,

You are indeed a special lady!

Thank you for inspiring and instilling so much good will and heartfelt friendship here on this website. You've shown me what GWRRA membership is all about. I am truly proud to be a member.

God Bless you both!

Bill (and Linda),
Like others, Marilee and I wish that we could be there with you on the very special day. However, time and distance will not permit us to make this journey. I know that this is not what Linda had in mind when she posted her note in the wanted section, but I'm glad that we could be a part of this effort. Knowing how much you and Linda have given to the community, and to and for each other reminds us of the true meaning of family. We had both just about given up on the idea of the group ever doing anything just because it was the right thing to do, but this has rekindled our faith in the true human spirit. Best wishes for the both of you, and someday, somewhere, maybe on some highway between there and here, we'll meet. Coffee and ice cream is on me!

Hi Bill and Linda,
Betsy and I were proud we could play a very small part in seeing you both back on a goldwing. Wish we could be there, but circumstances weren't right for that. We hope to see you both in the future. I think we all belong to a super family. Good luck and have plenty of safe journeys in your future. Remember that none of this would have taken place without Linda. God Bless you both and the rest of your "family".

Hopefully, you won't suffer cramps in your jaw from smiling...

Bill and Linda,

I don't know what we can say that hasn't been said. This has been great fun and we really enjoyed the sharing. We thank you both for letting us feel all warm and fuzzy. Hope to see you at the Hines Wing Group get together or on the road. We'll be looking for BR2, if you pass a stealth looking 1800 named "Jazz", and our brake lights come on and we swing around behind you -- don't panic it's just us! And if you get to Seattle, please drop in -- we always have an extra room available. Ride safe and often!

To the Hines Wing Group, it has been a real pleasure being part of the gang. We hope to see you all out on the road. We will be looking for the HWG pins and we will be proudly wearing ours.

Best Wishes and Happy Holidays to you all,

Bob and Shirley Mitchell

Bill:

When I first read the post by your wife (Linda) it brought tears to my eyes. It seemed that she must love you very dearly and is willing to do whatever she can to make your life happy.

The outpouring of kindness, love and a genuine desire to be part of something greater than ourselves took on a life of it's own and the result of it all makes me swell with pride that a group as cantankerous (sometimes )as this put the effort into getting you back on the road again. I also would love to be able to be there for the presentation.

I hope someone is taking video and will post it on the web (along with pics) for the rest of us to enjoy.

The best to both of you (Bill & Linda) in the future and I (also) hope to see you down the road sometime.

Okay Bill & Linda, another Jerry here ... seems there's a few of us and we all have the same thoughts..that's to wish you and Linda all the best and safest miles you can rackup on BR2. Bonnie and I had so much wanted to be there and shake hands with all in "the Family" (I just wanted to hug Linda) Actually, I was hoping for a couple of bowls full of her famous chili!!

Well, by now you should be able to see with dry eyes and I'm hoping that y'all have many safe and wonderful miles ahead of you ... don't ever let your 2 girls (Linda & BR2) down and I'm ever so sure that they'll stick by you.

It has been a wonderful and heartfelt cyber trip to meet everyone involved with this and I'll always be on the lookout from here on in for members of our cyber family.

Take care, God bless and Ride safe......

Not much else can be said that hasn't been said before so I wish you all the best in the future and that all your rides are better than the one previous.
I wish I could have been there to see the event and I am looking forward to the pictures. Having been on this board for 5 years I can state unequivocally there are not a better bunch of people on this earth when it comes to compassion.
Stay well, ride safe and maybe if I get lucky our paths will cross at a future Wing Ding.

Dear Bill & Linda, on this, the eve of the Big Red 2 presentation, there are a lot of blue eyes and green eyes reading these posts. Blue, because we can't be there tomorrow for the festivities, and green because we're slightly envious of those that will be there.

Thank you, Linda, for your original post on the Wanted Board. It started a wave of family and friendship that we will not soon forget. From coast to coast and border to border, many of us found that we could share a common goal, and do so without harsh words and ill tempers. All of the posts that surrounded this event have been a pleasure to follow.

Bill, we wish you many happy years of sporting your special co-rider around on Big Red 2. Maybe you'll have a few more weeks of riding weather before it's time to snuggle BR2 in for the winter. And by the spring thaw you'll probably be bustin' at the seams, and rightfully so.

And ya'll come on down 'n pay us a visit in Alabamy, ya here!

Dear Bill & Linda;
This poem pretty well sums it up. Enjoy YOUR day (both of you) If you are ever in Tucson, YA BETTER STOP & let me give ya a GWRRA friend HUG!

Some people come and go in our lives,
like passing ships, nameless faces or forgotten dreams,
never meant to be part of our lives, but they are.

Kindred spirits who come into our world,
they touch our hearts and make a difference in our lives.
They give us the gift of friendship so that we are not alone.

Friends share simple, ordinary times in our lives,
moments that become memories that stay in our hearts forever
and we will never, ever be the same.

Thanks for making a difference in my life!

Bill & Linda - I can only mirror what has already been said many times over. With all the turmoil in the news in our country, it makes me proud to be part of such a large group of people that so unselfishly give not only from their wallet but from their heart.
Linda, I applaud your attempt to satisfy your husbands desire for another Wing, but in your effort to aquire a GoldWing for Bill you also awoke a giant in the form of brotherhood. The GWRRA members that have brought this plan to its culmination are as deserving of praise for their efforts as you are for your inspiring plea.

Bill and Linda: This has been an amazing venture to say the least. I've been keeping up with it as often as I can. I'm a relatively new member of GWRRA, Chapter P, Fayetteville, Georgia (Hi JoeinGa), and I am blown away by the outpouring of love and generosity displayed by all the members who have participated in this. You two have sacrificed much, and you're an inspiration worthy of the gift. I'm so proud to be part of a group such as this. I wish I could be there to see the presentation, but will have to eagerly await board stories and pictures! I will be there in spirit. Take it to the road now and ENJOY!

Bill and Linda,
I've been following this the whole way and I must say that I couldn't be happier for you. Just looked at some pictures from the event and must admit, I got choked up! Ride in good health!

Bill and Linda,

Jerry and I would have loved to have been there, but time and distance did not allow. You are in our hearts and in our prayers. Thank you for allowing all of us to look outside our own problems and reach out to someone else. You two have truly blessed us all.}

Bill & Linda. I've been on board since about the 100th post of the very first string. Amazing!

I've been away for an Rx procedure since Monday, the 4th, and am just catching up. Thrilled to have been involved.

Enjoy BIG RED! I'll think of you often as my 85 Blue on Blue Asp purrs beneath me. Wish I could have been with you all. From the far end of Canada - FrankinBC

Bill and Linda,

I couldn't post anything until I had modified my signature file to include Hines Wing Group Member.

What an experience this has been. And what a welcome relief from the political posts that usually clutter the General board. I have looked forward every day to searching for news on this project. You, Greg, Joe and all those that helped make this possible have helped restore my faith in humanity. I wish you many, many safe and fun-filled miles on BR2.

(By the way, your new bike is a sister of mine!)
